Invited Artist

María has bachellor's and master's degrees in Criminal Justice. After completing them, she decides to pursue her calling and passion for the arts. In 2015, she began taking sculpture and painting courses at the School of Fine Arts in Guayama. Since then she is dedicated to acrylic painting and sculpture. She participated in the Collective Exhibition of Sculpture Workshop at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Guayama in 2017 where she obtained several nominations for her works. In 2019 she began her Master of Arts studies with a specialty in Painting and Drawing from PUCPR. She has participated in various solo and group exhibitions. On this occasion, the works that she presents return to the use of bright colors and abstraction to capture emotions. Her sculpture captures the interrelation between the body and the spirit, since for her creating it is about enjoying the creative process, recalling memories that soothe the soul and inner self. Art transports and helps her to work with her interior.
